SCELSE undergrad wins prize at top international research academy

Mr Goh Jing Yaw has won the 3rd prize at the ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy (UGRA) 2016. He is a third year NTU School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) undergraduate student working with Asst. Prof. Cao Bin at SCELSE. The theme for this year’s UGRA is “Energy Challenges and Solutions in Today’s Context”, and Jing Yaw's winning research presentation is on the "Removal of 17α-ethinyl estradiol in aquatic environment via adsorptive filtration and desorption.”

ASPIRE league is jointly formed by the alliance of five top technological university members in the region, namely Hong Kong University of Science & Technology (HKUST), Korea Advanced Institute of Science & Technology (KAIST), Tokyo Institute of Technology, Tsinghua University and Nanyang Technological University.

Each year, ASPIRE Undergraduate Research Academy (UGRA) will be conducted and selected students from each ASPIRE League university will come together to learn from experts the latest technologies related to renewable energy and also, present their research projects with the objective of sharing knowledge with their peers from other top technological universities.
