SCELSE Summer Course 2016 (3 – 21 July)
21 March 2016

The annual course on Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (ELSE) is a highly interdisciplinary and intensive three-week course that exposes the students to a broad range of topics such as microbial ecology, statistical data analysis, biofilm fundamentals as well as applications in wastewater treatment and biofilm drug discovery.

This year, in addition to lectures, discussions and student presentations, there will also be hands-on sessions to introduce students to the practical aspects of the field.

The Summer Course is strongly recommended by last year's participants.

"The course was highly intense but well structured. Course materials, tutorials and lectures provide a comprehensive overview of developments in modern science. It’s a great opportunity to interact with some of the world’s best scientists in microbial biofilms and microbiology," said Dr Adison Wong, scientific programme manager from NUS.

"The course has been great. I am especially interested in the part about wastewater treatment," said Mr Rogelio Zúñiga Montañez, a PhD student from University of California in Davis.

Students and early career professionals from Asia are highly encouraged to apply. If you are interested in the Summer Course, please click HERE for more information about the application process.
