Pathogen wastewater surveillance

Current wastewater surveillance research involves detection and tracking of arboviruses such as dengue, which are current public health threats in tropical and sub-tropical areas. The current wastewater surveillance programme builds on SCELSE’s high-resolution wastewater surveillance across Singapore to detect and track the SARS-CoV-2 virus, in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This research provided critical early warnings of outbreaks, enabling timely public health interventions and contributed to Singapore’s pandemic response efforts.
