SCELSE Scientific Advisory Board member Prof Alexander Zehnder, has been conferred an Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science from NTU, which was presented by the President of Singapore, Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

This Honorary Degree is in recognition of his extraordinary contributions to the field of environmental science. His pioneering research in sustainable development, water resources management, and environmental protection has profoundly impacted global environmental policies and practices. His dedication to addressing critical environmental challenges through innovative and interdisciplinary approaches has advanced scientific knowledge and inspired countless researchers and policymakers worldwide.

Prof Zehnder said, “I am deeply honoured and humbled to receive the Honorary Degree of Doctor of Science. This recognition is not just a testament to my work but also a reflection of the collective efforts of my colleagues, collaborators, and students who have shared my vision and passion for environmental sustainability. Together, we have strived to push the boundaries of scientific understanding and develop practical solutions to some of the world’s most pressing environmental challenges.”

This event, the NTU Convocation Ceremony, was held on 23 July 2024 at Nanyang Auditorium.
