Abeed completed her Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering in Malaysia. She began her career at SCELSE as a research associate in the Environmental Engineering Cluster, where she contributed to a project focused on developing a novel bioelectrochemical sensor for detecting volatile organic compounds in sewer networks. Currently, she is pursuing a part-time PhD under the guidance of Prof Stefan Wuertz. Her doctoral research focuses on elucidating the complex relationship between microbial diversity and disturbances in anaerobic digestion systems.
