Dr Anisa Cokro

Research Fellow
Environmental Engineering cluster, SCELSE-NTU

Email: angelanisa.cokro@ntu.edu.sg

Dr Angel Anisa Cokro is a research fellow in Prof. Stefan Wuertz’s research group. Her primary focus is the development of an algal-based system capable of utilising wastewater and off-gas containing carbon dioxide to cultivate microalgae, thus creating an economically viable source of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). She earned her PhD in environmental engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU), specialising in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) in tropical climates under the guidance of Prof. Wuertz. Before re-joining SCELSE, Anisa was a research fellow at the National Institute of Education and the Nanyang Environment and Water Research Institute, both at NTU, working on projects that examined Singapore’s cleansing biotope systems, as well as the utilisation of unmanned aerial vehicles as a remote sensing strategy to detect water quality in coastal areas.
