Dr Anisa Cokro

Research Fellow
Environmental Engineering cluster, SCELSE

Email: angelanisa.cokro@ntu.edu.sg

Dr Angel Anisa Cokro has joined SCELSE as a research fellow in Prof. Stefan Wuertz’s research group. Her primary focus is the development of an algal-based system capable of utilizing wastewater and off-gas containing carbon dioxide to cultivate microalgae, thus creating an economically viable source of polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs). She earned her PhD in environmental engineering from NTU, specialising in enhanced biological phosphorus removal (EBPR) in tropical climates under the guidance of Prof. Wuertz. Before joining SCELSE, Anisa was an RF at both NIE and NEWRI, working on projects that examined Singapore’s cleansing biotope systems, as well as the utilisation of unmanned aerial vehicles as a remote sensing strategy to detect water quality in coastal areas.
