Dr Dongqiang Cheng is a research fellow with a molecular evolution and bioinformatics background, under A/Prof. Federico Lauro’s supervision in the Environmental Engineering cluster. He specialises in two areas: microbiome-influenced corrosion and marine viruses identification and classification. His highlighted works include uncovering the first microbiome composition that influenced deep sea corrosion and developing a pipeline to identify the global RNA viruses.
