Dr Josiah Chong is a senior research fellow and the manager for the Advance Biofilm Imaging Facility in SCELSE, under the supervision of SCELSE director of imaging Prof. Peter Török. He specialises in optical bioimaging techniques such as optical coherence tomography (OCT) and two-photon microscopy (2pm). He is actively involved in the development and implementation of advanced optical instruments for neuroscience applications. He was awarded a PhD in the field of bioengineering at the National University of Singapore (NUS) in 2011 and started his post-doctoral training at the UBC, Canada and UC Davis, USA from 2012 to 2017, where he developed techniques for in vivo structural and functional imaging of human/rodents’ retina and rodents’ brains.
