Dr Daniela Moses

Principal Research Fellow
Deputy Research Director
Meta-o’mics & Microbiomes cluster, SCELSE
Head, Genomics

Dr. Moses received her PhD from Eberhard-Karls-University in Germany in 2009, while working in Prof Schuster’s laboratory at the Pennsylvania State University, USA. Although a Microbiologist by training, Dr. Moses ventured into the fields of Molecular Biology and DNA sequencing early in her career. She joined the Singapore Centre for Environmental Life Sciences Engineering (SCELSE) at NTU as a pioneering staff member in 2011 and is currently managing and overseeing the centre’s state-of-the-art next-generation sequencing facility while also serving as the Deputy Research Director of the Meta’omics & Micorbiomes cluster. Using cutting edge next-generation sequencing technologies, the facility enables samples ranging from individual microbial organisms to complex biofilm communities and microbiomes to be studied at the genomic as well as transcriptomic level. Besides overseeing daily operations of the sequencing facility and managing the activities of technical staff, Dr. Moses is using her experience to further develop sophisticated workflows and protocols in order to provide world-class sequencing services to researchers in SCELSE, Singapore, and beyond.
