Senior Research Fellow
Biofilms & Health cluster, SCELSE-NTU
Email: haris.antypas@ntu.edu.sg
Dr Haris Antypas joined SCELSE as a Wallenberg-NTU Postdoctoral Fellow under Prof Kimberly Kline in the Biofilms & Health Cluster. Haris is investigating infective endocarditis and catheter-associated urinary tract infections using animal models and microfluidics. His focus is on innate immune responses to biofilm and the effect of shear stress in bacterial physiology. He has been awarded the SCELSE Seed Funding and OF-YIRG from NMRC to delineate the role of neutrophil extracellular traps in infective endocarditis biofilms. Haris obtained his PhD from Karolinska Institutet, Sweden, where he developed novel tools for the study and diagnosis of bacterial infections. For his work on biofilm detection in urinary tract infections, he received a postdoctoral fellowship in 2018 by the European Institute of Technology.
