Dr Radek Macháň

Senior Research Fellow
Imaging Facility, Biofilm Biology cluster, SCELSE

Dr Radek Machan is a senior research fellow whose main task at SCELSE is to support the users of SCELSE’s Advanced Biofilm Imaging Facility (ABIF) in their microscopy experiments. Beside this, he also participates at research projects conducted by the group of Prof Peter Török, which focus on development of novel optical imaging devices to target specific research needs. Radek’s main expertise is optical micro-spectroscopy and its applications in life sciences. Fluorescence correlations spectroscopy was the main tool and topic in his doctoral studies at Charles University in Prague and postdoctoral research at NUS. While working at microscopy core facility at Charles University, Radek took interest in Raman microscopy, which he continues to pursue at SCELSE.
