Dr Samantha McCuskey is a SCELSE research fellow in Prof Gui Bazan’s research group at SCELSE-NUS. In SCELSE, Samantha’s main focus is understanding synergy between electroactive microbes and synthetic conductive materials in bioelectronic composites by conducting transcriptomics and materials characterisation. Prior to joining SCELSE, Samantha undertook her PhD with Prof. Bazan and Prof. Rachel Segalman in the Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she investigated redox-active conjugated polymers and oligomers for enhancing bioelectrochemical conversion.
