Dr Junnarkar conducts research on the gut microbiome as part of Professor Cynthia Whitchurch’s team. Before joining SCELSE, he was a Research Scientist at L’Oréal Singapore, where he developed innovative microscopy techniques and conducted cutting-edge research on the skin microbiome, contributing to advancements in skincare product development. Prior to this, he worked as a Research Fellow at A*STAR Skin Research Lab, where he enhanced clinical study data analysis and utilized advanced imaging techniques to study skin conditions.

Dr Junnarkar earned a PhD in Biological Sciences from the School of Biological Sciences at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), where his research focused on studying circadian rhythms in the skin. His primary research interests lie in understanding host-microbe interactions and leveraging this knowledge for health applications.n Biological Sciences where he studied circadian rhythms in skin, from the School of Biological Sciences, NTU.
