Senior Research Fellow
Biofilms & Health cluster, SCELSE-NTU
Email: subramoni@ntu.edu.sg
Dr Sujatha Subramoni, a senior research fellow in Prof. Alain Filloux’s group within the Biofilms & Health cluster, specialises in the study of bacterial virulence mechanisms and the interactions and communications within biofilms. Presently, her research focuses on investigating type VI secretion systems in Pseudomonas aeruginosa, a human pathogen. Her primary goal is to discover new effectors and functions that contribute to interbacterial competition and host-bacteria interactions. Before joining Prof. Filloux’s group, Dr Subramoni worked with Prof. Scott Rice at SCELSE. She earned her PhD from Jawaharlal Nehru University, India, focusing on the genetics and virulence of Xanthomonas oryzae, a plant pathogen.
