Elaine Lopes Oliveira completed her B.Sc. in Biological Sciences at La Salle University, Brazil. Since 2017, she has been serving as a research assistant in the Meta-‘omics & Microbiomes cluster at SCELSE. Currently, Elaine is pursuing her graduate studies at the School of Biological Sciences, NTU, under the guidance of Prof Stephan C. Schuster. With a background in entomology, microbiology, and metagenomics, her research focuses on exploring potential host-microbial interactions in biological and mechanical vectors, as well as detecting infectious bioaerosols in indoor and outdoor environments through air samples. Elaine’s expertise further extends to metagenomic analysis and statistical modeling, which she skillfully employs in her involvement with a global air microbiome project.
