Justine Dacanay

NGS Research Fellow
Meta-‘omics & Microbiomes cluster, SCELSE-NTU


Dr Justine Dacanay is a research fellow under Prof. Stephan Schuster as part of the Meta-‘omics & Microbiomes cluster. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in medical biochemistry and Master’s degree in cancer cell and molecular biology at the University of Leicester, UK. Justine is currently managing SCELSE’s next-generation sequencing facility, and performs Illumina and Oxford Nanopore sequencing for numerous projects. She also conducts whole genome bioinformatic analysis on bacterial and fungal isolates cultured from air, and on human genomes as part of the GenomeAsia 100K project. She continues to explore the latest technologies in next-generation sequencing to push the boundaries in air microbiome research.
