Deenadayalan has joined SCELSE as a research associate under the supervision of Dr Viduthalai Rasheedkhan Regina in Biofilms & Health cluster. In SCELSE, Deena will be working on the development Raman spectroscopy-based device for detecting bacteria on human skin. Additionally, he is engaged in studying the collection and processing of Raman spectra from bacteria in model samples and contributing to the development of machine learning tools for identifying different bacterial species. Prior to joining SCELSE, Deena served as a research officer for two years on a research project funded by DST-SERB, Government of India, following the completion of his master’s degree in biotechnology.
