Abstract:
This session is designed for microbiome and genomics researchers seeking to scale their computational workflows in the cloud. Participants will learn how to leverage AWS intrastructure for microbiome data processing – trom compute and storage fundamentals to advanced genomics pipelines using AWS HealthOmics. The sharing will also introduce Kiro, AWS’ vibe coding tool, demonstrating how it can accelerate the building of custom HealthOmics workflows. Whether you’re analysing metagenomes, metatranscriptomes, or multi-omics datasets, this workshop will equip you with practical cloud skills to move from raw sequence data to biological insights faster and at scale.

Biography:
Charlie Lee is genomics industry lead for Asia-Pacific and Japan at AWS and has a PhD in computer science with a focus on bioinformatics. An industry leader with more than two decades of experience in bioinformatics, genomics, and molecular diagnostics, he is passionate about accelerating research and improving healthcare through genomics with cutting-edge sequencing technologies and cloud computing.
