Dr James Ho is SCELSE’s senior research fellow who focuses his research at the intersection between materials science research and biology. Leveraging his formal trainings in cancer cell biology, biophysics, protein science and biomimetic model design and reconstitution, he tackles fundamental questions relating to biofilm structure-function relationship and actively pursuing translational outcomes for his projects.

Awarded a PhD in medical science, Dr Ho is a co-inventor of several patents, which form part of the intellectual property portfolio of a listed clinical-stage biotech company. He also provides technical consultancy services as an independent consultant in the area of biomimetic model systems, promotes and supports entrepreneurship.
