Dr Anton Sadovoy
Senior Research Fellow
Meta-‘omics & Microbiomes cluster, SCELSE-NTU
Email: anton.sadovoy@ntu.edu.sg
Dr Anton Sadovoy has joined SCELSE as a senior research fellow under the supervision of Prof Stephan Schuster in the Meta-‘omics & Microbiomes cluster. In SCELSE, he will be working on projects focused on air quality monitoring and respiratory disease health risk analyses in public transport systems. Dr Anton holds a PhD in optics and biophysics, with a specialisation in light scattering in disordered media and laser speckle diagnostic technology from Saratov State University, Russia.
Prior to joining SCELSE, he transitioned to the role of a research engineer at the Institute of Materials Research and Engineering (IMRE), A*STAR, Singapore, focusing on the development of polyelectrolyte microcapsules as carriers for implantable biosensors. During his tenure at A*STAR, Dr Anton established himself as a capable project leader, overseeing a range of cross-disciplinary projects encompassing implantable biomedical and food sensors, aerospace non-destructive testing, air quality monitoring, and health risk assessment for Singapore Mass Rapid Transit (MRT) systems, as a principal investigator. Notably, he spearheaded the development and validation of an IoT air quality monitoring system that tracks air quality and passenger traffic within trains. His experience also extends to the startup realm, where he co-founded Zima Sensors, an A*STAR spin-off dedicated to commercialising sensor technology for assessing packaging quality in healthcare, food, and electronics industries. Additionally, Dr Anton exhibits a keen interest in IoT technology, machine learning, and AI applications in the context of air quality monitoring.
