Celebrating the arrival of two leading experts who will drive innovation in biofilm biology and environmental engineering
As of August 2024, we are excited to welcome Professor Cynthia Whitchurch and Assistant Professor Laura Nolan to SCELSE, marking a significant milestone in our commitment to advancing biofilm research.
In an exclusive video, our centre director, Professor Alain Filloux, introduces these distinguished researchers. They bring a wealth of expertise and fresh perspectives that align perfectly with SCELSE’s mission to advance scientific understanding and drive translational research with global impact.
Professor Whitchurch who joins our Biofilm Biology cluster will spearhead investigations into bacterial lifestyles, biofilm development, and antimicrobial resistance. Her work is poised to push the boundaries of our knowledge in these critical areas.
Assistant Professor Nolan joins our Environmental Engineering Cluster, where she will explore the intricate interactions of biofilms within various environments, ranging from the food chain to human infections. Her research aims to develop targeted interventions that yield beneficial outcomes for society.
We invite you to watch the full video to learn more about the groundbreaking research these scientists will undertake at SCELSE and the innovations they will bring to the global scientific community.
