SCELSE Open House 2024: Showcasing Innovation in Biofilm & Microbiome Research
A big thank you to the 200 curious minds who joined us for a day filled with excitement and discovery, diving into the fascinating world of biofilm and microbiome research.Packed with engaging presentations, interactive sessions, and invaluable networking opportunities with SCELSE’s scientists, the event was a huge success. It not only showcased SCELSE’s pivotal contributions to the field but also fostered strong connections among students, researchers, and professionals
A panel discussion on academic pathways offered valuable insights into careers in science, followed by captivating seminar sessions led by Dr James Ho, Dr Binu Kundukad, and Dr Haris Antypas. These sessions delved into the biology, physics, and public health aspects of biofilms, giving attendees an in-depth look into SCELSE’s groundbreaking work. Lab tours further enhanced the experience, giving participants a glimpse of SCELSE’s cutting-edge research facilities.
The day wasn’t just about research; attendees were treated to a hilarious skit by Dr Desmond Chua & Dr Wong Lan Li, which humorously underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in science. To cap off the fun, everyone enjoyed a complimentary ice cream station and churros, creating a relaxed setting for informal chats and networking.
