Welcome to SCELSE, André Le Bivic and CNRS delegates! We were delighted to host André Le Bivic, Directeur de l’Institut des Sciences Biologiques, CNRS, along with the esteemed delegation from CNRS and CNRS@CREATE, at SCELSE!

The day kickedoff with a welcome from Prof Alain Filloux and a comprehensive overview of SCELSE’s cutting-edge research. Our speakers, Profs. Sanjay Swarup, Stephan C. Schuster, Peter Török, and Cynthia Whitchurch FAA; as well as Dr Ezequiel Santillan, shared their expertise, sparking engaging discussions on biofilm and microbiome science.

A highlight was the lab tour, where we showcased SCELSE’s Advanced Biofilm Imaging Facility, Bioreactor Facility, and High-Throughput Sequencing Facility. Huge thanks to our facility leads Dr Yong Hwee FOO, Ms Justine Dacanay, and others for bringing our research to life for our guests.

Our thanks too to the NTU team including Wanda Preiser and Prof Laurent Renia, for their support in making this visit seamless and enriching.
